Everyone has started somewhere in both life and career. A composer has a special talent, especially when we talk about capacities like the ones on the program tonight. But they all had their start, and we present works from early in their composer career, hence the title “Composers in the starting blocks”. The names are Gustav Mahler, Richard Strauss and Arnold Schönberg. The music is Piano Quartet in A minor (Mahler), 2 pieces for violin and piano (Schönberg) and piano quartet in C minor (Strauss). We have also brought along Darya Govorun as a guest musician on viola.
